Why you need a source of succour, if you are thirsty for victory

But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.” (John 4:14)

Thirst is an inevitable desire in all of us. Every living thing does thirst for something more especially water. Our bodies thirst for water, our souls thirst for comfort and our spirits for victory.

Victory is like the dew of heaven. It is refreshing and it rescues our crushed spirits from the dungeon of fear and defeat. Victory has its own laughter. It comes to squeeze out the pain from our hearts.

Everyone is seeking to be victorious on earth over something. Education, money, disputes, domestic lives, and businesses are some of the things that affect man. Therefore, humankind, in his thirst for victory over the affairs of this life is seeking for a supernatural alliance; something to mysteriously turn things in the opposite way.

We all draw near the water when we thirst but I have seen a man who walked out of the sea and grab a cup of water from the bar. I have also seen a man rejecting water from a dirty cup though he was thirsty. It means we do not just drink anything from anywhere because we thirst. We drink what is true and pure. Caution! Some liquids may only look like water but in nature, it is something else.

Our source of victory as believers is the living word. The Living word is the living water that satisfies the thirsty spirit. The Bible is sold at bookshops but the word of God is given from the Lord. Many are holding Bibles but few carry the word. Many are quoting scriptures, but few are rightly interpreting scriptures. God is not confused; Satan is the author of confusion. Many are still confused in this life although they sit in churches because they have not personally found the word of life.

John 7:38 states: “He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”

Instead of being the source of life to the thirsty, you are still going about looking for solutions because you have not believed. Your conviction is not yet in the word; you doubt so you have become stagnant and stale.

When you lack confidence and faith go for the living water. Listen to those who have grown their faith in the word and have testimonies to share but be watchful. What is beneath the source of the words you drink is important.  Look deep inside before you take in the good with the bad. Meaning, ponder over every statement, and allow the Holy Spirit to speak the truth into your heart. Ignore teachings that are inconsistent with the word of truth. False teachings, false doctrines, false prophesies and so on have caused men who genuinely needed succour from the Lord to walk on a different path. Our fellowship with God is personal and unique.

When we commune with the Holy Spirit personally, we are assured of a true relationship and a pure word in our spirit. Like the believers of Berea, personal search and inquisition into the deeper things of God will lead us to the truth.

I once read in the news of how a self-acclaimed man of God in Brazil would let women drink his semen as a means of deliverance. I read in the news of how a ‘charlatan’ called a pastor would let his followers eat live insects and worms as a means of deliverance.

Then I asked myself, where in the word is written that we need the intake of these things to be delivered?

The explanation is that laziness has made many Christians ignorant and instead of being liberated, they have become slaves in some ministries. There are many out there doing things in the name of Jesus Christ today but are rather ferocious wolves. They do not have the word because they do not know our Lord, so they are interpreting the letters in the Bible to deceive the vulnerable.

The water that will quench your thirst is not in the church auditorium, but in the Holy Ghost. We only fellowship to commune and show love to the brothers. We live most of our lives in our private places but until we have the Holy Ghost with us and in us always, we will continue to thirst for victory.

Do not just drink anything from anywhere.

Some words make sense, but that does not make them the truth. Do not just visit places because you desire victory over a challenge. Spend some time privately soaking in the word of God and you will find answers. They are there. The solutions to your problems are there.

The Holy Spirit is our teacher and our help.

The scripture in Jeremiah 31:34 said, “And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”

When you get to the point of personally knowing the Lord, you will have continuous victory. Know the Lord personally and you will not require anyone to teach you about Christ.

We preach because men have not taken time to know Him. The job of preacher men will end when we all come to the full knowledge of Christ. When we know that God has forgiven us of our sins, we will have the confidence to walk into his presence in humility.

The Bible in Revelation 22:17 read, “And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.”

The water of life is free; do not pay for it. If you so desire, the Lord will quench your thirst. He is right at your door knocking. If you so will, he will come in, dine with you, and teach you things you need to know to walk in continuous victory.

Are you willing? Then come and take the water of life free. Shalom
